Directions – How to Make Blood Orange Donuts
Step 1—Mix the dry ingredients—flour, yeast, and sugar—in a small, medium bowl. Mix it with a spatula, then add the eggs.
Continue mixing the dough, adding milk and butter. Try to form a rounded dough. Cover the mixture with a kitchen towel and put it somewhere warm to rise for about 2 hours.
Step 2 – Roll each portion into a ball, flatten it into small discs, and place it onto parchment paper; sprinkle your surface with flour, and cut out rounds using a round cutter.
Step 3 – Cut small holes using ¾ inch cutter.
Step 4- Preheat a dish filled with vegetable oil or a deep-fat fryer and carefully place each donut. Cook 1-2 at a time for about 2 minutes, then flip on the other side. Place on a plate and leave to cool.
Step 4 – Icing: Add water to icing sugar and mix it slowly. Pour the glaze onto each of your donuts and decorate them with orange, pink, and white sprinkles.
The result is a gorgeous pretty pink and orange donut.
