Do you long for the glam-chic Vegas is known for?
Would you rather bring home the spirit of the world’s entertainment capital than push through the crowds on the Strip?
While Vegas can only truly be experienced on the spot, you can transfer some of its character to your home.
Light. Lots of It
In one day Vegas consumes enough electricity to power 450 US households for an entire year.
Naturally, a considerable portion of this tremendous use of power goes to the millions of lights illuminating the city at night.
Commonly the internal light in Las Vegas comes from massive chandeliers hosting tens of light bulbs.
Fortunately, with modern LED light fixtures you can bring home this look without the hefty electrical bill or the pain of having a bulb give up on you.
Furthermore, the old “no-windows” casino trick is sort of getting out of fashion.
Roger Thomas, head designer of Wynn Resorts, found out that the majority of high-rollers at Wynn’s gambling venues are women and as a result, these places underwent major interior overhauls.
One of the big changes? Large windows that let in natural light.
Neon Signs

Contrasting to the bright white and yellow chandelier lights are the neon signs that “wink” at every Vegas corner.
Neon lights are so abundant there that Sin City even has a neon light museum.
Equipping your place with a neon sign is a lovely way of bringing along the muted, bar/casino/lounge feeling you are accustomed to at Nevada’s gambling capital.
If you let the sign be the only source of light, it will make for a cozy and intimate environment, ideal for a date night.
Alternatively, you can achieve a similar effect with hidden LED strips to accentuate a centerpiece.
Dark/Neutral Colors
Speaking of colors, to make all the lights, colors, and accents stand out, most of Vegas has adopted a dark/neutral color scheme.
The city’s casinos use mostly darker tones to create a luxurious vibe and allow guests to settle in the cozy atmosphere of thick carpets and plush armchairs.
The distinctive look obviously has an effect, as dark and muted colors have also been embraced in web design as evident from online live casino pages.
These colors are usually paired with neutrals which are great options for furniture, especially if they make for a good centerpiece.
Picking the right color combos for your home depends on what you have to work with and what effect you’d like to achieve.
Small homes will feel even tinier with lots of dark colors, which could be the desired effect for a cozy vibe but could also get claustrophobic.
Pop of Color

We’ve already mentioned the palette of colors emanating from neon signs.
But color in Vegas is spraying from every corner, and there are more ways than lights to make your place gleeful with joy-bringing colors.
This is actually where darks and neutrals come to the rescue—they can serve as a base on which you can layer bright colors.
Having a pop of color is lots of fun, but beware that using too much of it will get overwhelming and can even affect your mood and mind.
To do color Vegas-style, contrast a couple of accessories (vases, art, even books) against a mostly neutral but luxe color scheme.
Marble With a Speck of Gold
Marble is a favorite rock for Vegas designers which is not surprising.
Marble has been associated with wealth throughout human development and where else to express wealth than Vegas.
While the white rock is beautiful on its own, the city hotels often pair with golden details like knobs and faucets.
The keyword here is “details”—too much gold and marble and your home will turn from elegant to tacky.
Some inspirations are, of course, the Italia-themed crown-jewels The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Caesars Palace.
Granted, marble is expensive and heavy material not suitable for every budget or home.
Thankfully there are many alternatives on the market that look like the real thing—from faux marble to self-adhesive foils.
Entertainment

What Vegas-styled home lacks entertainment?
That’s right. None.
But, here again, the key is moderation.
How about a home wet bar that you can also use as a dining area?
You also can’t go wrong with a decorative roulette, a blackjack table, or a slot machine (do check local law on owning those).
If none of this is your form of entertainment, you can get a karaoke set and turn a corner of your home into a glamorous Vegas-worthy stage.
Back to Nature
Located in the desert, Vegas is not that rich in flora and fauna.
Yet, the area is astonishingly beautiful, and you can reconnect with its nature even among the concrete jungle.
It’s actually a global trend now for urban dwellers to bring home the great outdoors by incorporating natural materials, textures, and looks.
Sand, red rocks, and cacti are some of the Vegas-inspired elements you can use to create a relax-zone, decorate your bathroom, or even to turn your balcony into a mini-desert.
You don’t need three words to sum-up Vegas. “Glamorous” will do.
This is also the word that should guide you if you want to bring the city’s iconic look to your own place.
Though, keep in mind that there’s a fine line between glam and kitsch, so make sure every design piece serves a purpose.
